Cocktail shaker

Postby tang » Sat Dec 31, 2005 10:39 am

Wondered if anyone could help with this. Old cocktail shaker (well I've had it 30+ yrs and it was old when I got it). Have now managed to take a half readable pic of the hallmark - T.W & S with a swan pic in between the W and the S. Don't know if it's silver or silver plate or whether it is worth selling?

Thomas Wilkinson & Sons of Birmingham England; good quality silverplaters.

Thank you SO much! Wow I cannot believe that I just joined this morning with my rambling question and got a reply so quickly!

Is it worth me trying to sell it do you think? And should I clean it up? I am getting rid of as much of my stuff as poss before moving abroad later this year - intend to carboot most of it but have a few things I am unsure whether they are worth anything or not.

Thank you again and happy new year!

Well, shaken drinks are quite popular these days, as is vintage bar equipment, so somebody would probably be interested. As said, Wilkinson made quality goods and your shaker has a good form. Clean it gently, but don't over-polish it. Use a good silver cream -- Wright's is my choice.
