Wanamaker - minature?

Need help identifying this piece - or just more information. It is marked John Wanamaker. Below the name is an oval, but the info is worn off, except for an 'S' in the lower right side of the oval. Below the oval there appears to be a patent mark - the letters PAT, but the number is illegible. Below that, 1 1/? OZ.

The only John Wanamaker I can find info on is the department store pioneer from the late 1800's - early 1900's.
