reed & barton #2765 tea pot? no marks just print

Postby mrsgreen » Wed Dec 14, 2005 8:10 pm

I found this little tea pot in my mothers things 4 years after she passed. I never seen it before and the only markings on it is on the bottom and it says mfd &plated by reed & barton 2765 patient applied for. Does anyone have a clue if this little pot was made prior to 1940? I can't find anything in the Reed & Barton area like it. Surly there is other ones like it. I would appreciate anyones advise. I would also like toknow if their is supposed to be other markings on it that I may not have found. Does any one know how to get a photo without glare?

Taking photos of your teapot !

I just discovered this wonderful place for reseaching silver hallmarks
of which I don't know much. But I can help you with the photography of them.

Try having your piece against a dark or black background when taking photos.

Make sure you have good light by turning on overhead and lamps in the room.

Try not to take a direct on shot..angle from the side which will help prevent the bounce back of the camera light producing direct glare back into the camera to spoil your photo.
