I am lost

Postby ancient1 » Thu Apr 01, 2010 4:04 pm

I love buying old stuff, and this spoon asked me to buy it, but I would like to know about the history of the spoon, until now i didnt even know what a hallmark is ...and now there is so many that i am just lost. Could someone be kind enough to explain the signs to me. If I am in the wrong posting I must say I am sorry, since I reside in Sweden I thought i might as well post there.

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

I cannot see your marks that clearly, but they are plater's marks rather than hallmarks. The 'EP' stands for 'Electro Plate'.

Try posting a clearer image of the marks.

The part of the marks that are visible (cross and star shapes) look to me, to be Joseph Rodgers & Sons, Sheffield.
