Hello Carla
Shown spoon is a French one, in an »Art deco« style. Company FRANOR is until yet unknown by me.
Both shown marks are in conformity to French regulations for electro plated products: Maker’s mark in a square or full name (like e.g. CHRISTOFLE) in a rectangle. It is not so often, that both mark’s were struck on same piece.
SF’s signification is a short form of company’s name. Additional symbol were usual; here a lemon?
84 is indication of silver used in the electro plating process on 24 pieces = ¼ square meter be plated. Sometimes, weight of silver used for 12 pieces were indicated in a separately square, e.g. 12 coffee spoon were struck with 12G (= 12 gram).
When French company (e.g. CHRISTOFLE) exported, they’ve like, those clients get an impression of buy solidity, like if they buy Russian flatware. Under Russian restriction they’ve changed to 90 gram.
Kind regards silverport
