Antique Teapot Hallmark 1867 Help.

Postby ryanh2313 » Thu Dec 17, 2009 3:30 pm

I found this teapot and decided to get it for my mother, however I can not find any information on the hallmark, on the bottom it is stamped 1867, or that is what it looks like it is. Any information will help.

Object looks like made in pewter alloy »Britannia»

Postby silverport » Thu Dec 17, 2009 9:25 pm

Hello

Object looks like made in pewter alloy »Britannia» and then after be plated - on some places silver plate has gone and surface of basic material is visible. Shown number would be model number (or maybe year of production?).

This kind of products was en vogue especially in last quarter XIX century.

Products and production stopp in Germany was start of WWI.

Kind regards silverport
