Unidentified small silver teapot with bakelite handle.

I have no idea what to make of the markings on this piece. It's quite small, measuring only 5.5" inches wide and 3" inches tall. Maybe you can help?

Its a Russian water kettle. Seems to be the logo name of the company (?). The letter Ц is an abbreviation from Цена (tshena) meaning price. It has cost 8 Roubles abd 50 Kopek. It is definitely not silver, not even plated but probably steel or aluminum.

Oh, that's funny that you say that it's not silver, because it was tarnished when I bought it. Are there other metals that tarnish like silver? Thanks for the information though.

Its not silver because there are neither USSR nor Russian silver marks whatsoever on it. Also the price, which is practically nothing, indicates that it cannot be silver. But OK, it could be electroplated with a thin layer of silver. But I don't think so. Probably it was just tarnished (read dirty).

It is silverplated. This is the meaning of the word in russian "П О С Е Р Е Б Р Е Н". I can not recognize the mark, but in 70's-80's the price of 8.5 rubels was about 7% of months salary.
