I believe the mark on this is HE&Co. S. Is that Hawksworth, Eyre & Co? I haven't found the exact style of this mark for Hawksworth. Could it be someone else? How old do you think it is? Thanks!

Hello

I could guess only an answer to yours second question - yours main question (maker's mark) remain to be solved by others.

In my collection I've a few with handles in non metallic material - yours be damaged by interaction of bones fluting and washing-up. But also by store conditions.

European fish slicer and fish fork blade material is very often steel nickeled and for final gilded - for cost reason and prevention of interaction between silver alloy and fish itself.

Sometimes you could find in Europe also blade from silver alloy.

These server - if they were West European - could be made in first decade XX century; base: blade's piercing and additional decoration by engraving.

As mentioned main question isn't solved yet.

Kind regards silverport
