Please help ID Creamer (?) with 3 Leaf Clover Handle Spout

Postby Bethb » Wed May 06, 2009 11:58 am

This has me stumped & I'm hoping some of you knowledgeable folks can help ID it. At first glance I thought it was pewter, but inside is silver. I believe it is a large creamer, measuring 4 3/8" tall & approx 3 1/8" at the base. The front is engraved (?) with a 3-leaf clover design on the handle & spout. I've gone over it with magnifying glass & the only mark that I can find are the numbers/letters (?) on the bottom.

Thanks so much for any help with this! Beth

Hello

Actually in «925-1000» isn't available a marks picture. If possible place a new one.

You are a resident in America - so you have maybe also knowledge in American liqiud measures e.g. 1 fluid ounce = 0.0296 l.

If you multiply 1 fluid ounce by one cipher visible on the bottom side - it's maybe that one who is the tallest - you would get contents volume. If that's function - one point in yours questions is solved.

Other numeral could be modell number - maybe by 3 or 4 digits.

Sorry! Optical appearence of shown details in yours photos suggest: pewter, pewter, pewter ... It doesn't matter that inner surface has a plated protection layer. An inner protection layer is ONLY necessary if the pewter alloy is of low quality e.g. percentage of lead in pewter alloy.

Sorry again! It seems to me that this pewter object is a recent product; a decorative item only - but "dangerous" for human use. I suggest: Oxalys or Violets could survive there for a while - or other little flowers - if there is sufficient fresh water. Or little artificial flowers without water.

Don't worry - be happy! Take a photo with flowers.

Kind regards silverport
