Hello Thank you in advance for your knowledge.
I inherited this Georgian period coffee pot and I am confused about the mark. The crown has a series of numbers below the Hallmark. I figure it must be an early English piece but in my hours of searching I still am not sure this is an Older Sheffield coffee pot I read that there was no legal requirement to mark old Sheffield pieces so the system of hallmarking possibly does not apply to my piece. Can someone verify this for me Anyway can anyone help me date my coffee pot and it's true origin. I did get the chance to ask my cousin it's history.

Suggest your first port of call is to get it tested to see if it is solid silver or silver plate... then maybe we will have something to work on. Best wishes, Mike.

To clarify the position a little... it may be a plated or solid silver copy of that period..... we need to know if it is solid silver. Best wishes, Mike.
