This large serving spoon belonged to my grandmother who was originally from Glasgow. I am perplexed by these marks. Appears to be a crown over BP in a shield and then some indestinguishable marks ending in &S (all gothic) These is also a C. I originally thought it was a crown over EP, but once I took the pictures I'm even more confused. Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated!
Those are British silverplate marks. BP stands for "British Plate" and refers to a nickel silver alloy first used by William Hutton in the late 19th century. Seldom see the BP mark after the first quater of the 20th century.
