marcasite ring

this ring is silver and marcasite. I know nothing about it and was someone could maybe help with the age. The only mark is "silver"

The most common use of only Silver as a mark that I have come across is on Chinese sterling. Other times was on jewelry from Israel and Thailand, but rarely and usually then accompanied by a country of origin.
