Plique a Jour Bat Pendant - unknown mark

Has anyone come across the mark 925 BEDESTENCI,which could be a Turkish word? I bought the pendant in an antique jewellery shop in Cape Town. It is set with two emerald(?) eyes and 15 diamond-like stones (12 on ears and 3 on 'tail'). I have no idea if they are real diamonds. I also have no idea whether the drop-shaped pearl body is real though I was told it was when I asked the shop assistant. I bought it because I fell in love with the little fella.

Sorry, I have no way of hosting pictures outside of my computer. It looks very similar to some art nouveau bat brooches I have seen, possibly German.
