Help this makers mark pleae!

I recently bought a vintage/antique sterling rosary. I have no clue how I am supposed to take a picture of something you have to see through a loop. Hopefully the desription will be enough for someone to tell me.

It is marked sterling. The makers mark is inside of a square. It looks like a 4k...but the horizontal part of the 4 turns back up instead of going all the way back to the vertical line in the 4. So pretty much just like this 4 I am typing but the horizontal line stops short of the vertical and turns up.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

Your question cannot be answered without the required images.

How to Add Images

Posting Requirements

http://www.tinypic.com is recommended. Embedded images get a far larger response than just posting links.

Use your camera to shoot through the loupe. It will probably take a few attempts before you master it, but it does work. If all else fails, try drawing what you see, and then photograph that.

My guess is that there is something mounted on your item that is 14 carat gold. A picture of the entire piece might jog someone's memory or give a hint.
