The letter is a W in case somebody can't make it out.

That looks like the Mikimoto mark but up-side-down. It should look like an M on aan oyster-shell.

So I saw this and thought it to be relevant, when marked "SILVER" as such, its likely to be what purity?
I have come across quite a few items like such marked like that and was curious....
