Found a ring and need help with mark please.

I like to metal detect old homes and home sites in Ohio and I found a silver ring that is not marked sterling or .925 anywhere, but it is silver (took it to a jeweler) and looks to be 100% handmade. It was found in a yard of a house built in 1922 and the neighborhood has been there since the 1880's. I am also wondering what kind of stones are set in the ring. They look like hematite but are not magnetic. They are opaque and very shiney. I thank you for looking and hope to have the mystery solved soon! Thanks.
