Please help me ID odd onyx/jet(?) cross pendant "825"?

Postby ilovepugsdontu2 » Sat Oct 30, 2010 8:25 pm

Hello, I'm sorry that these pictures aren't as good as they might be but it seems once I get the right lighting I can't get close enough or it's too blurry, but I'm going to try to shoot some more tonight or perhaps tomorrow, but in the mean time I'd love to know anything at all about this necklace, it was given to me as a gift by a friend who didn't know anything about it either...Anyway, the markings on the front seem to be raised with a hollow sort of background, and for my life I cannot find a single thing about either the type of cross or the background marks or anything, and I've been scouring the net for a week! Of course I don't know anything about silver whatsoever so any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks :)

Oh, by the way it says (I think) "825" above the little (bird?) marking in the oval, though it can't be seen in these photos..

Also, I don't know what the black stones are but I suspect jet or onyx or something supposed to look like it, and the little balls on the edges and part of the "ring" around the stones seems to be yellowish/goldish in color (see below for close up; sorry it's not sharper! I'm so frustrated with my camera), so if this is white gold or not silver at all I apologize, I'm just really stumped with this one! :\ Oh and if this is too many pics please let me know so I can remove some....:)

Thanks for any help!

Hello

Welcome to the Forum.

As you already know, yours photos aren't very informative.

Maybe it isn't a problem of yours camera - but you haven't read again the manual?

Also with (digital) cameras without »macro« function, you could make informative photos:

Take pictures in the nearest position where you could get very sharp images.

Then make clippings; for to get only the important parts (as you've shown now).

Make a control of images quality of the clippings before you're adding that ones.

Please don’t torture us with images with large and not informative surroundings.

Ever add only clear images to yours topics!

»Input = Output«

Kind regards silverport

The macro setting is usually ID'd by a tulip or flower symbol.
