Finnish Ring?

Postby euangelo » Sat Jan 16, 2010 4:42 am

Hello,

I just found this site and was hoping someone here could confirm my suspicion on this ring as I am not at all an expert on hallmarks. I found it metal detecting in a California town that dates back to the mid 1800s, and the only hallmark on it is "H," which according to Finnish hallmarks should place it in 1817. Hoping someone here can shed a bit of light on this piece of jewelry. Thanks for any info!

Hi,
Your ring is modern, cast construction made sometime in the past 60 years. The single H mark gives little or no information as to its origins.

Thank you, I appreciate the info. I was hoping that it would be old but I knew 1817 may have been kind of a stretch. Thanks again.
