Egyptian Swivel Ring, Can't Identify Mark

Postby jjjfm1 » Mon May 12, 2008 9:39 am

I have put in alot of time researching this ring and what I have
found out so far is that I have an authentic ancient scarab swivel ring
in silver, with black inlaid stones maybe onyx or black basalt.
It appears to be a silver inlaid, casted (possibly lost wax) type ring.
The mark pictured is the only one I have so far of the mark. The band
is alittle worn in that area and the impression is not to clear. What I was hoping for is a possible timeline for the making of this unique ring.
IE: approx age, possible maker marks for that tme or anything else. What i found out is that the silver has some gold in it as that was the way silver
was back in that era.
