Old Buckle

Postby glompie » Sat Oct 06, 2007 7:17 am

Hello,

I've got an old buckle, I think 18th century.
I think it's made in Amsterdam (the 3 crosses in the mark)
I think the makers mark is the dotted horse shoe.

So my question is who made it and at what date.

Hi Bart,

I've searched my books for this one, but can't come up with a match.
The letter below the city mark indicates "kleine keur" (833/000) silver, but I cant see a letter in it. This type of stamping was done in Amsterdam between 1734 and 1807.
The makers mark is also a puzzle to me.

It's the other side, but I think it's the owners mark.
