i think the makers letters are MKH but don't know what the mark in the top left is.

Hi,
The maker's mark is the figure of the polar bear on an ice floe, it is the trademark for Kultasepat Salovaara, a firm located in Kaarina/Ã…bo, Finland.
The other initials are for either a designer, benchman or retailer.

thanks!! it's just great to know the origins as i bought with just the knowledge that it was Finnish and that i liked it :)
