Bracelet A835

Post by Flanders »

Bought this and I can read A835 but what does the other mark mean? Not that clear but it's an old bracelet. Thanks!

I believe the hallmark is "A800" and I believe this hallmark is from Belgium. ::: Interesting that you are Flanders. ::: I can't see the maker's mark in good enough detail, but the general shape of it appears to resemble a French hallmark, and I do know that there were some Belgium silversmiths whose hallmarks resembled the shape of French hallmarks :::

Yes, it is 800 by having yet another look. It's very hard to see, better pictures aren't possible. This has a lot to do with the fact that the silver marks are on the outside of the bracelet. I have others and it's all on the inside there. Does that mean anything? Being on the outside makes it much harder to read, faded over the years. Btw, yes I am in Belgium.

The maker's mark appears to be in a barrel shape, this would indicate a Belgian maker.

We have a few recorded here: Belgian Silver and Jewellery Trade Information
