Unknown country of origin

Post by mintymin »

Hi all
I hope you are all keeping ok.
I am getting chance to go through some jewellery and the pieces I know nothing about
It’s a cameo or woman’s face (I think a woman) on one side and a building on the other It has hallmarks I cant recognise and wonder if anyone had any information about where it may be from? The marks are quite vague and just say C2 and B-108? At first I thought Italy but just can’t seem to find these marks in any sites
All help gratefully received as always
Thanks you
Mintymin

Because of that information Trev. I have now found the monastery on one side. It is Monserrat monastery 45 km from Barcelona
Thanks again Trev, excellent knowledge

The Black Madonna Montserrat seems like a possibility for the women on the front of this piece. I wouldn't have guessed anything if it wasn't for the progress that was made ahead of me.

I would like to see those images, to see if I can contribute something.
