engraved Cross with red stone

i bought recently this cross with a unknown hallmark. To be honest, i am not quite sure about the material. Maybe someone knows the hallmark and can tell me more about provenace and age. Thanks in advance and greetings from Germany.

Almost certainly it is the mark of the "radiant star", used in Italy for the objects produced before the law came into force in 1935

Yes,silver,your cross is gilt solid silver, there are electronic testers now,I`d say the fineness is about .800.
