Norwegian Silversmiths
I acquired a magnificent piece (thick, heavy, detailed bangle/cuff with a woman feeding a ram) this past weekend at an antique market in London, but cannot find any information about it (trying to upload photos). The person I bought it from said he only knew that 830S is Norwegian. I took it to two appraisers who were not familiar with the mark either, but were both in awe and said it was a brilliant and rare find. The maker's mark is KM BARULFSEN830S. Is anyone familiar with this maker?

Thank you for responding. Should I delete this post and create a new one with a more descriptive title, or can I post pictures in the thread?

Carrying on this thread will be fine. We look forward to seeing the images.

Hi Tracey,
Just to get the ball rolling, the makers name appears to be Bærulfsen:
K.M. Bærulfsen - Kristiania - 1916

Re: Norwegian Silversmiths
Thank you, Trev! It does show that spelling on the mark, but it's very faint. I had to take another pic and blow it up to see it. Then I googled it and found nothing. I'm so happy you were able to find this. From looking up the info you posted, I was able to find this box, but nothing else so far. I'm very excited to see what else can be dug up about this jeweler!

Hi Tracey,
Thanks for posting the extra information, it's very useful.
A search into Norse mythology may well reveal the subject matter of the bangle.
