Silver + Marcasite Eyeglass Pendant w Tiny Marks-many photos

Postby Adam.NYC » Sat Sep 30, 2006 7:09 pm

The marks on this are so tiny that I am having trouble identifying them on this site. I took many pictures so that someone here may recognize the shape. The bottom picture looks like a head facing left. Anyway. I am hoping for help. Thanks so much!

It is the French Boar's Head mark!

The boar's head is a city mark for Paris and it sometimes includes the amount of silver (.800 or .925 for example) stamped underneath the boar's head - the other mark is the maker's mark - but I cannot tell you who that is. Are you sure there are no other marks? French marks on chains are meant to be every 10 centimetres and also a weight measurement.
