Help with silver locket

Hello , I'm new and stumbled across this forum whilst trying to research my locket.

I can see the following marks , E.P followed by the letter b and then an anchor and a lion.

Welcome to the forum.
Marks are out of focus.
Nevertheless, looks like lion passant, anchor and letter ‚‚q‚‚ for 1890.
Nicely made and hand engraved locket.No appraisals here.
Try to take sharper image of the marks and we might identify the maker.

I'm pretty sure it says E.P and then the letter b.

In fact the date letter is "v" for 1895. This is a confusing letter as it looks very much like a b but note the lack of a duty mark which we would expect if it were the 1876 b. EP is probably Edwin Page, chain manufacturer, 33 Hylton Street, Birmingham. I say "probably" because my identification is based on his registration of a mark at Chester around 1891. The Chester mark is not identical to the one on this locket so I cannot be 100% confident about the identification.

Sorry to add another possibility but the date letter is 'h' for 1882-3. Maker is Edwin Page 1st registered with Birmingham Assay Office in 1879 first as a jeweller then as a chain maker, first address given as 25 Hylton Street and then 33 Hylton Street, Birmingham. The lack of a duty mark was because these kind of lockets were exempt from hallmarking and therefore exempt from duty. Although they are nearly always hallmarked usually in either Birmingham or Chester. I hope this helps.
