Need Help With This Gold Plated Silver Medal!!

Hello all,
This is my very first post in this website. I recently bought an interesting looking medal. I was told that it is a British Museum silver replica of a piece in the museum. I want to know more about the date and producer of it if possible. So far I've discovered that the leopard head shows that it is from London and post 1830's. I'm sorry if the markings are not clear in pictures, but they were the best I could do with my camera. The first marking is: BM, followed by the letter: P, followed by: the lion, leopard and a letter of B. Thank you all very much in advance for your help.

London date letter for 1976. Sponsor`s mark is unknown to me.

I suspect the sponsor's mark may be British Museum Press, the publishing arm of the British Museum.

Please remember to keep your images to within the 7" (18cm) width limits.
