http://i.imgur.com/EYsPPFv.png <-- upside down, I apologise in advance.

This was bought for me as a gift from someone in Latvia as a metal detector find, had a look through the database but can't find anything. Have spent nearly 2 days trying to research it, but I don't know exactly how to look.

Any help appreciated!

Hi,

Welcome to the Forum.

You are far more likely to get a response if you embed your images as very few people will click on links.

Yes it is Ukraine and the assay office mark Д to the left in the fineness mark indicates the town of Dnepropetrovsk. In the other, rather unclear mark, where the arrow is pointing right is the first character most likely a year figure (unclear), the second mark Д i.e. the town mark for the mentioned town and the two last characters that seem to be ПА or ПД, the maker's initials. Unfortunately I have no records of Ukrainian makers' marks. All in all a rather new product as artdeco already wrote.
