L&L hallmark

L&L hallmark

I have a gold ring hallmarked Birmingham 1893, there is also a "L&L" mark on it. I would be gretaful if anyone could tell me what "L&L" is

Hi Grace,

Just to put things into perspective, during the period 1890-1920, the Birmingham Assay Office received registrations from in excess of 4,500 manufacturers, who entered over 15,000 marks during that period.
