Please help identify the marks on my Claddagh ring

Hi, I was given this Claddagh ring years ago and recently tried to identify who the maker was and where and when it was made but no such luck. I was told that as far as these types of rings go that this one was fairly unique and quite possibly old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your ring is not very old. It has a Birmingham hallmark; I can't make out the date letter exactly but it appears to be either "b" for 2001 or "h" for 2007. I don't know the maker (indeed I'm not even sure exactly what initials are).

Sorry I should have said London, not Birmingham, but the date letters are the same.

The date is not possible, as i have been in possession of the ring since before 2001.

It looks exactly like 2001 to me. Here is a London 2001 mark from my files for comparison:
