Help to authenticate Georg Jensen hallmark on bracelet #88

Postby mrcaskey » Thu Sep 27, 2012 9:49 am

Can anyone tell me if this bracelet is authentic Georg Jensen? I have researched his hallmarks and have found same hallmark but different order sequence on bracelet. Some upside down or order of each stamped in different places.

thank you in advance for your help

Hi mrcaskey,

That is a very lovely bracelet. I think the stamps are genuin. The round one saying Gerorg Jensen - and the other says Sterling and Denmark.

It must be a bracelet from the "amobe" series done by Georg Jensen. Kind of abstract sivler jewellry. My mother once reaceived a broch in that series from a friend's mother, that was once in the 1950'ies.

The stamp HK must be the sivlersmith's stamp at GJs workshop. 88 the catalogue number.

You could write to Georg Jensen and ask if they have a record of this particular design of bracelet.

http://www.georgjensen.com/dk - I can't find this bracelet on their website, so it's prbably out of production. But they should put you in contact with some one at the work shop who would know more about it.

HK = Henning Koppel; the bracelet was originally designed for Jensen in the 1946; design called "jigsaw"
