help identifying pocket watch

Post by bjboyd »

Hello: I have an antique British Sterling pocket watch. I intend to have it restored but would like to know precisely what I have before doing that. I have attached several images of the watch. I interpret the marks to mean it was made in London in 1812. The maker's mark is difficult to read. However from one set of marks (there are three on the watch), I make out an I plus a small mark between the letters. From another mark I make out an E. So the maker would seem to be identified as IE. Does anyone know if there was such a maker working in London early in the 19th century?

Thanks in advance for any help. Also, recommended restorers, preferably in Britain, would be much appreciated.
