German brooch

Post by lulu650 »

I have this marcasite stag brooch circa 1930s/40s and any info on the marks would be welcome. Makers mark is ELD, a London import mark, 925 and what looks like a little h. ImageImage

That h in this shape is the date letter for 1963. I have a small crystal vase with silver vase and the date letter is 1966, also London import mark. I’ve tried to find this maker, but no success so far.

Sometimes “limited” as in Ltd was abbreviated LD. The D is superscript here, nestled into the L, so that suggests it’s “E Limited” – whatever the E stands for.
