830S Skonvirke Men's Set - Help ID Maker?

Postby volpone » Fri Sep 23, 2011 9:52 am

Hi all,

I've had this set for a while and have tried to research the maker's mark, but to no avail. The tie bar and double-sided cufflinks are made of 830 silver with a skonvirke design, which leads me to believe they are of Danish (or possibly Norwegian) origin. The maker's mark appears to be a stylized, conjoined "AP" within an oval. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Hello.

I think that's A. Prip of Denmark.

Here's the silverplate mark:

Hello Pat,

I recently acquired a letter opener with the same markings you shared. The lighthouse, AP mark and the 30 below. Do you know when the mark was used? Made in the USA or Denmark? Also, what's the significance of the number 30? Thank you!

Sincerely,
Poul
