Trying to find this Fish Mark
(I do not think it is Fischlandschmuck as that fish is less stylised)

Not sure, but it could be a German maker named Louis Vausch, active around the 1930's. Let's see what others think.

Hello, this is typical Georg Kramer stuff. The mark was published as his in 1950 and was possibly in use before that. The Vausch fish looks quite different. Weber in her book on German art dèco jewellery mistook the Kramer mark for the Vausch mark and so wrongly attributed two Kramer pieces to Vausch. Best wishes, Bahner

Hi Bahner,
Just did a little checking to see why I had this mark associated with Vausch. Indeed it did stem from the appendix of marks in Christianne Weber's "Schmuck der 20er und 30er Jahre in Deutschland". Thanks for setting the record straight.
Regards, Tom

ps. does anyone have a Vausch mark image to contribute?
It would be great to have both this Kramer mark and a Vausch mark illustrated in the German section of the site.

Thanks for all the expert help Tom, JACKJO and Bahner.

After reading the postings I went back to the books and the net:

This image was assigned to Louis Vausch in the book
Schmuck in Deutschland und Österreich 1895-1914. Ulrike von Hase
Image

As was this one at www.smpub.com
Image

but then we get
Image
attibuted to"fitting brand directory" which is a translation from a German Site
but I have not found the reference.

Can we sum up the evidence as:

Weber in her book mistook the Kramer mark for the Vausch mark and so wrongly attributed two Kramer pieces to Vausch.
Take the reference "Schmuck in Deutschland und Österreich 1895-1914" as correct.
and ignore the "fitting brand directory"
What do you think?

As for my image

I would love to know the reference you mention, Bahner "... was published as his in 1950 ..."
