Thanks for the info. I did a little digging and George K. Lowe worked for the D.M. Hawkins Company in Rhode Island. That company specialized in jewelry fittings and findings. The patent # in question was for a bracelet George Lowe designed. So, while the patent number on the back of the piece of jewelry you saw probably related to Mr. Lowe's design, it doesn't refer back to these earrings (as the design is totally different from the bracelet patent. Oh well, it was fun to track down, and I appreciate the info - it's always nice to learn new things.
So, if anyone knows what this capital R mark means, please let me know! Thanks again -
