Help reading the cursive signature mark on this pair of earrings

Post by Vig »

I have this gold plated pair of twisted hoop earrings. One is marked clearly sterling and the other has a signature stamp that I have not been able to translate. The earrings are large and I am leaning towards a modernist style.

I feel like the first letter is a G and the last is an x or styalized t. Does anyone recognize this designer’s name.

I apologize for the excessive postings. I am new to the forum and somehow posted the same message multiple times.

Hi,

I'm fairly sure that is the mark of Gerhard Herbst, a jeweler working in San Diego CA.

Cheers, Fin
