sterling silver ring makers mark

hey all not sure if this is where I can ask and post this, but I was passed down a ring from my boyfriends grandma, not sure if it is a brown smoky quartz or a brown smoky topaz with 37 red/orange garnet's it is a 925 sterling silver ring and has a maker's mark that to me looks like a blue herring but I am having no luck at all with finding the mark on the internet
basically just want to know more about it I live in a smallish area and not sure of any good quality appraisers around here
so I wanted to ask you all maybe i'll be lucky and someone will know who made the beautiful ring :) thank you all
