Sterling Mayors Badge marked kcHmo

Postby nothingupmysleeve » Fri Dec 23, 2011 10:15 pm

Trying to ID manufacturer/era for this badge:

From dates of other items found in the box its dated (big assumption here) between 1890 and ww2. The Mark from the back that is obscured by the pin clasp just says STERLING. I tried a half dozen pics and this one was the only one where you could make out the mark clearly....

I am pretty sure the letters in the mark are " kcHmo " but searching for that (here and google) came up empty. Thanks for any help and Merry Christmas!

Welcome to the forum. I and no doubt others have been trying to find something out about your badge. No luck here, but it is such a great looking piece with a distinctive trademark that hopefully someone will be able to help you.

While looking at badge collecting sites and investigating novelty, badge and emblem manufacturers, I did come across Robert W Hilliker who was a late nineteenth and possibly early twentieth century novelty manufacturer in Kansas City, Missouri. Unfortunately, I do not know what his trademark looked like so that is just an extremely remote possiblity.

Merry Christmas and good luck with your research.
