Anyone know the mark on this brooch

The mark says sterling by Bell and I believe the stone is a mahogany of sidian . If anyone knows the time period that would be great too. Thank you

Mahogany Obsidian, a type of volcanic "glass". It is a natural stone mined in many parts of the world. It takes a good polish, is medium in hardness, but very brittle.

Got the mark out of Rainwaters, and read the info below instead of above!
I should have used the Encyclopedia, it's much clearer!
