Please Help with Marks on Ring

Hello and thank you for looking and possibly helping me.

My first question is when was the word Sterling written in script?

My second question is who used NT on sterling jewelry? The "T" is made by crossing the top of the last line in the "N".

Here is a picture of the back. I apologize for the clarity but it is a huge ring with big cabochon lapis (I think) and it won't sit flat on the glass.

Hi Everyone,

I received word that the ring in Lapis & Sterling is the mark for Thomas Nez and his mark can be found in the Barton Wright book Hallmarks of the Southwest.

Somehow the pictures disappeared so I appreciate the effort taken to assist me with this request.

I am posting the answer here so that everyone will know and maybe help others.

I tried following the directions to post the images, but it is not displaying for some reason. I was using parkyourpic to host the pictures.
