Hi, all. I have a silver bangle with a linear 12KGF insert that looks native american to me. It is marked "K" and Sterling in cursive. I hope I am doing the pictures correctly. I have never done this before.

Please help ID the maker. Thanks to you all.

If it comes out wrong, please advise me gently.

Suspect you have a piece by Hopi artist Michael Kabotie, believe he registered that mark in 1981 and the italic "Sterling" is typical of later NA silver.

Wow! I thought it strange to have GF in NA silver also, kerangoumar. That is what made me think it was actually an earlier piece.

But, according to dragonflywink, it just might be the opposite.

Thanks, Cheryl. I will look further into Michael Kabotie.

I have heard of him but just knew of his name only. And to think, I may even actually own a piece of his works.

Thanks again to both of you.

Just checked into it.

Nope, not Michael Kabotie.

According to this site: http://www.nativeart.net/blooperkabotie ... mark.shtml
they are looking for this hallmark as well.

I have been searching for almost a year now. The search continues.

Thanks again.

Thanks, notation made for the "K" mark. Suspect it will be hard to track down considering the incorrect attribution in Wright. Don't believe there is any question that it's a fairly recent piece.

It's official...

...I have gone crazy and decided to give up the search and just continue to enjoy my bracelet, dragonfly/Cheryl.

You are so very helpful, thank you.

I finally found the maker!!

You all have probably even heard of him. Kenneth Jones of New Mexico. He is Navajo. I forgot the rest of the info.

I can get my sanity back now.

Thanks
