Postby hpidaves » Sun Jan 06, 2019 5:21 pm

These spoons are marked 800, but are they? Korean?

Thanks.

Look at the "Hangul" mark for Silver as opposed to pure silver: https://www.925-1000.com/Fkorea_01.html

Each one may have come with a pair of chopsticks in the matching design/color to make two flatware settings.

Thank you for the link. I do see the hangul mark for silver. Does this mean solid silver? Would the purity be 800 (80%)?

Thanks.

No, you only have the part of the mark indicating silver, not the first half for "pure"...therefore, not solid but an alloy made of 80% silver as indicated at the bottom where the number 800 is shown.
