I found this object , made of stone (agate, I think) silver mounted. It has no marks but I tested it.



It is not old, but it looks handmade with a good workmanship.
I do not know exactly where it comes from and what it's for, but I guess that is a Tibetan object to pour holy water.
I did not find pictures of a similar item on the internet.
Someone has some more information about it?

Yes I would say Tibet or Nepal, possibly Buddhist. Let me ask is there anything along the rim near the handle that indicates there once was a lid? Was looking at other examples that were more bulbis or elongated, most were jade or jadeite. That low shallow bowl reminded me of some of the older ones that were made from human skull. Do not know enough about Tibetan Buddhist ritual to know what it may have been used for.

Yes the shape is similar to a human skull.
I continued searching and someone told me that it is probably a Mongolian object.
If I have news I will post here.
