Hello All,
There is a nice snuff box, 925 silver.

I can't find the maker's mark „LAMAY“.
Has anybody an idea about dating and origin?
Thank you!

Gerox,

I have the impression that it comes from the Philippines. (also 925)
Tagalog is an Austronesian language spoken in the Philippines.
Lamay means in this language "Wake"
According to the Elephant Trade Information System (ETIS), the Philippines form one of the nine countries that are most heavily involved in illegal ivory trade. With the country find many loads their final destination in China and Thailand, but also the archipelago itself is demand for ivory.

Regards
