help for maker and date

Hello everyone,

Here is a lovely inkwell in the shape of a mop bucket which leaves me totally puzzled as to maker and age.

Can someone help ?

Not an inkwell, it's an open salt cellar from Japan, missing its tiny pepper shaker. Most likely 1950s-60s.

Mark is K. Uyeda - Kichigoro Uyeda started his jewelry & silver retail firm in Tokyo in 1884 and the firm is still an operating family business.
