Help identifying silver and sharkskin rhinoceros

I have had this item for many years, though I know nothing about it. I'm guessing it is made from silver and sharkskin. I've been unable to find any info on this piece. The mark shown is in the center of the underside. It probably weights about 3 pounds. I have no idea of its origins, any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just did some research and this is most likely stingray leather, not sharkskin
