chinese cocktail shaker? help wirth mark please....

Post by dreamerak »

I have searched and searched and have come up with nothing for this mark... can someone tell me anything about this shaker? I was told it was silver by a local assayer who tested it and a local antique store told me it was "probably" from the 20-30's but didnt sound confident....Any help would be GREAT....

Yes, it's a Chinese silver cocktail shaker. The manufacturer and retailer is Tuck Chang (TC, "徳祥" in Chinese), a Shanghai based company founded by some silversmiths came from Guangdong. "" is the mark of the silversmith who made this item. Probably earlier 20c.
