Vase Hallmark ID?

Postby Breareye » Wed Mar 21, 2012 12:47 am

I recently acquired this small (6") silver vase. It was dirty, tarnished and black, so I polished it. I noticed that there is also detailing of gold overlay on some of the flowers and leaves within each vignette. Also each vignette depicts a different type of plant. I noticed a small hallmark on the base of which I cannot read, because I am very unfamiliar with chinese. Any help with identification would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Sorry about the picture Quality, I don't have the best lighting in my apartment. If anyone needs Better images I can try a reshoot.

If you can get a large one (I mean high resolution) for the 2nd picture, please show me a new one. I can see the maker's or deal'smark is "x宝". Should be an old Chinese silver item made in the end of 19c to 1930s.

Here is the best that I can do, I'll just give you the direct link to the photograph so you can view it however you'd like.

The maker's mark looks "善宝". however I couldn't find more info about them.
